Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is expected to leave the club at the end of the season, but the next destination of the English international is far from certain
Marcus Rashford's brother and agent Dwaine Maynard was seen in the vicinity of Manchester City's transfer chefs during the recent victory of the city over Aston Villa. However, the English international is still supposed to give a move to Barcelona.
Rashford, 27, is impressed by the loan in Villa Park. He probably remains Parent Club United permanent in the summer, but remains determined to play Champions League football.
That is something he managed this season, where Villa reached the quarterfinals of the competition and suffers a scary defeat against Paris Saint-Germain. However, they are confronted with a tough fight to return, with that loss away to the city that leaves them three points outside the top five with four more games left.
Rashford scored from the penalty spot in the Etihad Stadium, with the first half of the Villa level. The scores remained tied to deep in the stopping time, when Matheus Nunes delivered a dramatic late winner for the hosts.
According to the mail, the presence of Maynard, a stone's throw from the Txiki Begiristain chef of the outgoing city transfer and his successor Hugo Viana does not necessarily mean a deal for Rashford is threatening. The same publication reports that Rashford himself – who has been a united player since the age of seven – has shown no signs of choosing a move to the rivals of his boys' club.
Rashford will miss the rest of the season due to injury, but a decision must be made in the summer. Villa has an option to buy it for £ 40 million, but he is supposed to favor a Barcelona switch.
Barcelona remains a dream destination for the attacker, who is not supposed to be interested in moving to a London club. His wage of £ 350,000 a week remains a potential stumbling block, although he is reportedly prepared to do a wage reduction if it means that a move to Barcelona can materialize.
Rashford was not available on Saturday for Villas FA Cup Semi-Final against Crystal Palace. The Unai Emery team was defeated 3-0, where their manager gave an update on the loan.
“He's injured. He was injured this week and [Friday] We did a test, “said Emery.” It's his hamstring. We are going to try to test him every game, but he is injured and he will probably not be available for a few weeks. “
United and Villa are talking about an early return from Old Trafford for the attacker. The teams will meet during the last weekend of the season, although Premier League loan rules do not allow Rashford to play against his parent club, even if he was fit.
They see Villas three other remaining competitions opposite Fulham, Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur. Villa has rejected an approach to Spurs to change the date of the competition, with the London side after extra time to prepare in case they reach the final of the Europa League.
