Turkish head coach Vincenzo Montella is confident that Arda Guler is starting to make his way at Real Madrid.
Guler struggled for game time in his debut 2023/24 season in Madrid as injuries marred his impact.
However, his role has increased this season as Carlo Ancelotti has started to show more confidence in the 19-year-old.
Despite positive steps forward, his lack of exposure at the club has affected his chances with the national team, with former Turkey head coach Mustafa Denizli labeling some of his recent performances for Turkey as 'immature'.
Montella is taking a more optimistic approach to his emerging talent, with former Italy international Guler heading in the right direction despite a difficult situation in Madrid.
“Arda is trying to find an opportunity with a team with a lot of competition,” said Mundo Deportivo.
“I've seen a lot of improvements lately. Especially in terms of character and fighting, he has learned how to do both.
“Arda will play more in the future, he just needs a chance.”
Guler scored six goals in La Liga last season despite limited playing time, but he has not found the back of the net in any competition so far in 2024/2025.
