Two forwards offered to Barcelona after change of strategy and Haaland reality

Barcelona continue to insist that their top target for next summer is the left-wing position, but there are growing doubts over whether they can afford not to invest in the number nine.

Robert Lewandowski's problems in the past two months have once again raised the question of whether they should continue with the Polish forward next season – a question that was asked at the end of last season.

According to Sport, Barcelona have accepted that the impossible dream of signing Erling Haaland is indeed impossible. However, there are options on the table. The Blaugrana have been offered Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez and Napoli player Victor Osimhen in the past six months.

The other name that attracts Barcelona Sporting Director Deco is Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres. However, like Haaland, there are doubts as to whether they can afford the Swedish striker. The only major change is that Barcelona had previously considered choosing a younger striker like Jonathan David for Lewandowski, but now they are moving towards an all or nothing approach: Lewandowski or a top scorer.

Barcelona are reportedly considering selling more assets to fund their transfer activities, although that could ultimately just be to sign Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. The problem for the Blaugrana is that, with no big sales on the horizon, it's hard to see how they can fit any more big signings into their salary cap.
