Last summer it was reported that director of Football Deco was preparing three separate transfer strategies, depending on which level of Budget Barcelona had to be spent. None of those reported strategies was carried out, with Barcelona spent their entire budget signing Dani Olmo for € 55 million last summer after missing Nico Williams, but again he are considering a variety of scenarios this summer.
The Blaugrana is once again in a sticky salary limit, whereby the club ensures that they will return within their League mandatory spending limit, instead of being confronted with expenditure restrictions. Relo reformulation that Barcelona will first see how the season is going on, and count what prize money they earn, then look to sell players, and ultimately possible to bring in players if they can. If they can, they only want to add players who improve the level of the team, but Deco also loves players who have goals.
The right-back and left positions are circled as priorities for Deco, and the will of Luis Diaz of Liverpool is often linked to the club, while Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen has been on their radar for some time. Two new names mentioned as potential goals are, however, liverkusen -teammate Alejandro Grimaldo and AC Milan -Midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.
The Dutchman has been connected to a number of European top clubs in recent months, including Rivals Real Madrid. The 26-year-old has a contract until 2030, after he had joined € 20.5 million from AZ Alkmaar-Hij in 2023 would probably be an expensive signature.
In the meantime, Grimaldo stands for an important few months before his future, with two more years over his Leverkusen deal. He recently admitted that he dreams of playing in Spain and returning to Barcelona. It is of course one thing for Barcelona to have a player on their radar, and another for them to go to a player – or has the finances to do this.
