Two senior figures in the Manchester United leadership team are reportedly set to leave the club.
Mail Sport exclusively revealed earlier this week that the staff had been hit with a brutal new wave of cuts. This is the second round of dismissal since Sir Jim Ratcliffe completed his partial takeover of United last February.
Eight months ago Ratcliffe let 250 employees go, and he wants to reduce the number of heads at United with another 200 people.
As part of this process, Richard Hawkins, director of the United of Football Insights and Innovations, and David Harrison, director of football activities, is both told that according to the Athletic they will not have roles in the club.
The two men are supposed to discuss exit conditions for their upcoming departure.
Hawkins has been holding his current position since March 2023, after he first received himself from the club as a human performance manager in 2008.
He was named head of Athletic Training Services and then head of physical performance.
In the meantime, Harrison has played a key role in the renovation on the training ground of United's Carrington.
He is also respected in football after having spent earlier 27 years in Everton.
Hawkins and Harrison are considered excess to be required, while the director of the United Scouting, Steve Brown, also leaves after a decision against accepting a new position.
The Red Devils also brought a big change after the scenes in December when sports director than Ashworth only went to Old Trafford five months after arrival.
Further rooms will become clear in the coming days. A total of 450 employees than a third of the original workforce has lost their job since Ratcliffe took over the daily running from the club.
The final round of dismissals comes after Ratcliffe claimed in March that United was in danger of going to go Christmas if he did not take action to prevent the club from lost money.
However, there are concerns at United that the Ratcliffe redundancy program, which often focuses on more established staff, is tearing the heart and soul from the club.
