Tyson Fury reacts to rival Wladimir Klitschko’s rumored comeback, talks of a potential rematch

Tyson Fury responded to Turki Alalshikh's recent comments about Wladimir Klitschko possibly returning to the boxing ring.

Tyson Fury is days away from facing Oleksandr Usyk in one of the biggest heavyweight rematches in boxing history. After a 35-fight undefeated streak to start his professional career, his undefeated streak came to an abrupt halt when Usyk defeated Fury via split decision in May.

As Fury prepares for possible revenge this weekend, a former rival is set to potentially return to the ring and stage a possible runback. Wladimir Klitschko, who defeated Fury in 2015 to win a string of heavyweight titles, is rumored to be considering a return to boxing after a seven-year absence.

While Fury is lasered on Usyk, Klitschko may be waiting in the wings for another shot at the British star. Turki Alalshikh recently threw a Klitschko comeback fight against the winner of Fury vs. Usyk 2.

It didn't take long for Fury to share his thoughts on Klitschko's potential retirement.

Tyson Fury taunts 'grandpa' Wladimir Klitschko amid comeback rumours

During a recent interview with BoxNation, Fury responded to the rumors surrounding Klitschko's possible return to the ring.

“Whatever he wants to do, good luck!” Fury said about Klitschko. “I told him years ago that he was too old at 37, so he's definitely too old now at 49. Grandpa.”

Fury was also asked about potentially running it with Klitschko again all these years after their first booking.

“I'm a prize fighter, show me the money,” Fury said of a possible rematch.

At the time of their fight, Fury's victory over Klitschko was the biggest victory of his career, and he became one of the best heavyweights of all time. Klitschko's victory prompted Fury to match big names with the likes of Deontay Wilder, Dillian Whyte and former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.

As Klitschko returns to the ring, he will have the full support of boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. The 55-year-old Jones made his return to professional boxing last year after a defeat against former UFC star Anthony Pettis.

Klitschko's loss to Fury came after a 22-fight winning streak that included wins over the likes of Alexander Povetkin, Kubrat Pulev and Hasim Rahman. He retired after a TKO loss to Anthony Joshua in 2017.

As Fury seeks revenge on Usyk, Klitschko could potentially be planning his redemption tour. At the time of writing, Klitschko has not yet addressed the rumors of a possible return to boxing.

If Fury is victorious in his upcoming rematch against Usyk, he could be on the verge of welcoming his former rival back to the ring. But Fury's reaction to a potential Klitschko comeback fight could indicate a lack of interest in a rematch unless the price is right.
