The coming return from the UFC to Miami to UFC 314 has a vacant featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes, to go along with a large number of other high -profile periods. In the Co-Main event, Michael Chandler will try to give Paddy Pimblett the most difficult test of his UFC career when they are in a crucial lightweight matchup.

UFC 314 takes a big hit as the main card bolt is removed due to injury
As reported on the UFC broadcast of Mexico City, the planned good weight between Carlos Prates and Geoff Neal from UFC 314 is after Neal withdrew due to an injury. At the moment, the UFC is not going to find a short-notice-replacement opponent for Prates, and he can be turned against a new opponent on a new period of time.

Prates in particular is potentially 2-3 victories removed from earning a goodweight title shot. His most recent victory over Magny catapulted Prates for the first time in the Welterweight Top 15 in his young UFC stint.

Despite that prates vs. Neal is being canceled, it is expected to be UFC 314 a fireworks show in Miami. After UFC -Fedweight Champion Ilia Topurias announced relocation to lightweight, Volkanovski and Lopes will fight for the empty title of 145 pounds.
It is a huge opportunity for Lopes, whose rapid climb of the featherweight ladder has recent victories on Brian Ortega and then IgE. Volkanovski gets an immediate empty title shot after the fall of Topuria by knockout on UFC 298.
Volkanovski was expected to get an immediate rematch against Topuria before the lightweight movement of the latter. Topuria is expected to return this summer against a proposed opponent, possibly UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.
