UFC 316 brought the Octagon back to Newark, the New Jersey's prudential center for the annual pay-per-view visit of the UFC.
It is a Bantamweight title double header, with Merab Dvalishvili who defends his title against Sean O'Malley in the main event and Julianna Pena takes on Kayla Harrison in the Co-Main. Both fights have had fascinating structure, with the first two men saw more damped approaches.
However, the garbage conversation is good and really delivered by Harrison and Pena, who seem to have a real beef on the way to their confrontation. The 'Venezuelan Vixen' believes that her references-included a victory over Amanda Nunes-over are seen in favor of the two-time Olympic gold medal winner.
Elsewhere on the map, Joe Pyfer and Kelvin Gastelum finally fight after their UFC Mexico City fight had been canceled for hours before they walk. Kevin Holland is also against Vicente Luque for the third time this year.
Perhaps the most intriguing matchup of the Undercard sees Mario Bautista on former Bellator champion Patchy Mix. He has been something of a boogeyman in the division and is now finally testing himself in the UFC.
