UFC contender details concussion so bad he couldn’t ‘formulate sentences’ before fight cancellation

Brandon Royval withdrew from a fight last month due to some worrying health updates that required some time from the gym.

'Raw Dawg' faced Manel Kape on March 1 with 'Starboy' who was going to beat ASU Almabayev in a dominant and somewhat controversial representation.

Both men are in the title photo, but signs now point out Kai Kara-France that challenges Alexandre Pantoja for the flight weight belt on UFC 317.

Royval had previously stated that he had withdrawn from the fight because of the suffering of permanent symptoms of a concussion that forced him to make a big call.

The couple was now rewarded for the International Fight Week on 28 June, with the former Challenger title now providing more details about his recent struggles.

Brandon Royval reveals that he had speech and focus issues after a concussion

In a recent interview with Inside Fighting, Brandon Royval discussed more details about the health problems with which he was dealing with in and around the cancellation of his fight with Manel Kape.

The 32-year-old previously stated in a video on his YouTube channel that, after he had received a concussion a few months ago, he decreased the gas for a while to recover, but after he had started his camp before March 1, he suffered another one.

Royval said that after a week he was dealing with the symptoms, decided that the best step would be to push his return instead of fighting this concern about him.

He has now explained exactly what the symptoms he fought were and how he was considerably more influenced than any regular concussion that he has had in the past.

Royval said that his speech, focus, reactions and memory were all affected, which means that if he did not pull out of the fight when he did, he would certainly have been before he got into the Octagon.

“I believe there are levels of concussion … Those are just facts,” said Royval. “You can get a little headache, all those things. My concussion was so serious that I was not originally not formulating sentences. I was not as remembering-I would have a conversation, I would start talking, and I would forget what I said in the middle of the sentence. That was the first week.

“My eyes didn't follow. That was the weirdest of everything,” Royval continued. “If I bounced between things between things … I would find it hard to find (what I tried to look at). … If a flying weight, being in the UFC, being in every sport, my eyes have to bounce. I have to see everything.”

Royval continued to say that after working with the UFC Pi and some neurologists he could make a number of important changes to make a recovery.

Brandon Royval would not be open about his concussion problems

Brandon Royval has been incredibly open and honest about his concussion problems, which is very rare to see an active hunter.

He stated in the same interview that this was not always his plan, because he did not want people to speak to false conclusions.

“I don't think athletes at a high level talk about it and it is one of those things that is much common in sport and it was one of those things that I would hide. I remember that I thought:” I don't tell anyone about a concussion because I don't want someone to think anything and I don't want to go any assumptions. “

In the end, Royval decided that his health was the best step for his health and career prior to his return to UFC 317.

“I just wanted to be super open about this because I feel that I don't want to be a stuttering man. I don't want to stutter or stutter 50 years old or just not be able, I have a life after this. I have a career that I want below.”
