Dustin Poirier will be walking to the Octagon one last time this Saturday at UFC 318 against three -time rival Max Holloway. Poirier not only gets the chance to end his career with another UFC belt, but to do it just a few hours of his hometown.
While the hours for Poirier's last hurray, a UFC Hall of Famer believes that there is a lot of extra pressure on the Lafayette resident to perform than at another time in his career.

Poirier has fought many UFC legends during his career, especially in recent years. Seven Van Poirier's last ten fights have come against former UFC title holders, and he is no stranger to big moments among huge spotlights.
But Poirier will probably experience a spotlight with whom he has not had to deal with his combat sport career while preparing for Holloway for the third time at UFC 318.
During a recent preview on his YouTube channel, Michael Bisping gave insight into the pressure Poirier on his way to UFC 318.
“When he retires, in just 36 years old, there will be many things that Dustin Poirier can do. So is the motivation still there? Of course. It is in New Orleans, the UFC is specifically going for Dustin Poirier, and that could be incredible. And that could be the fairy tale feewell, but the sp.
“You have friends and family in the city, they all want to see you perform. You are the local hero. And it brings a lot of pressure with it! I have been there often, every time I fought in England, it was a bit stressful.
“But I was also undefeated in England, you want to do the people straight, make them proud and it pushes you into a training camp.”
In Louisiana, Poirier has only fought in his UFC career in Louisiana, when he eliminated Yancy Mediros in June 2015 with a Body Kick. It was the most recent time that the UFC organized an event in Louisiana in UFC 318.
UFC CEO Dana White has repeatedly explained that the promotion has booked its return to New Orleans, specifically at the request of Poirier. This will also be the second time that Poirier has fought for the BMF belt in his career. (UFC 291 vs. Justin Gaethje)
Dustin Poirier's daughter wrote a cute tribute before UFC 318
In anticipation of his last hurray at UFC 318, the eight -year -old daughter of Poirier, Parker, wrote a moving tribute that the rounds made online. During the episode of UFC 318, Parker wished her father the best at UFC 318, while he expressed adorabile lighting in him who ran away from fighting.
Van Poirier is expected to turn to a UFC analyst role as soon as he hangs the gloves after UFC 318. But he might also be able to pursue other combat sports competitions, including boxing and wrestling.
