The biggest fight of 2025 still seems to be in balance, despite some positive updates in recent times.
At UFC London Tom Aspinall trolled again Jon Jones by showing a rubber duck when the cameras cut him on the broadcast.
All signs point to one side that keeps things with the PFL and even offers a huge amount of money to Jones for the Francis Ngannou -fight instead.
Although that seems even more unlikely at this stage, fans shout for a form of concrete proof of what the next is.
While Aspinall was in London, where he teased more news, Jones took the first steps in a new company after he was co-owner of the Dirty Boxing Championship of Mike Perry.
Mark Coleman says Jon Jones will fight
The first official Dirty Boxing Championship event took place last weekend, where Yoel Romero won his second victory in the promotion.
Jon Jones, not surprisingly in view of the news of his involvement, was in the city for the show when he encouraged his teammate Maurice Green, who rather briefly in the night.
UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman was also present in the pendant in Miami on Saturday evening to see what the promotion was about, while Tom Aspinall Kooi -side was in London.
In a social media post after the event, Coleman shared a photo of him and Jones while thinking about his exchange with the current UFC Heavyweight Champion.
Coleman did not really go into detail, but he made two things very clear.
He stated that 'bones', as many believe, is the greatest of all time, while giving the battle between him and a green light.
Since the Brit has been very clear that he wants this fight without room for alternatives, this is further proof that things are going in the right direction, despite the fact that we are not sure what Jones said to Coleman.
“I ran the champion against Dirty Boxing. He is the goat. He will soon fight Asinall. We will be so brothers. God is great. Hammerhouse4life”
Jon Jones could break the MMA fan base whenever he wants
During this entire process, many Vecht fans have been critical of Jon Jones and his approach to a potential fight with Tom Aspinall.
Even now where encouraging signs are about the fight, 'Bones' has still shown little interest in the matchup and although that could be a negotiating tactic, Jones would cause a shock wave around the battle sports world with even a small post about fighting the interim champion.
It still feels like it's too early to get enthusiastic about the prospect that it happens in 2025 at a certain moment, but that only increases the question.
