Rashad Evans reflects on the first rivalry of his career at Tito Ortiz

During a recent performance on the Podcast of Pound 4 Pound, RasDaD Evans was asked to name his favorite rivalry in his career.

For many fans, his feud with Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson will come up in me, who culminated in a huge main event at UFC 114 after an incredibly entertaining season of 'The Ultimate Fighter'.

Two years after this confrontation, Evans challenged his former teammate Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title in another resort for the centuries.

In addition to these two, obvious choices, however, there is another feud that Evans emphasized when he thinks about his career.

'Suga' shared the Octagon with Tito Ortiz twice, with 'The Huntington Beach Bad Boy' who also had his honest part of the memorable rivalry.

Evans emphasized this, because although it might not be his biggest feud, it was his first.

“That was a good one. The Jon One was a good one. Tito Ortiz was a nice rivalry because it was my first. It was my first, when I was first born in the game of S-talking. I was at a UFC event and I was just chilling and lo and see, here comes Tito Ortiz. This big head and he pushes me there.

“That was really the first time I felt that a fight was a fight, because before that time it was just like a competition, but that was the first time it felt like a fight.”

Rashad Evans calls his favorite fight in his career

Although they have different rivalry to choose from when looking back on his career, there is a clear answer for Rashad Evans when he is asked about his favorite fight.

Jon Jones and Tito Ortiz are perhaps great opponents for 'Suga', but his feud with Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson made for watching must-watch.

At UFC 114 they finally entered the Achthoek what remains Evans's favorite fight.

“That was my favorite fight, because that fight went, the waste conversation was so deep … He spoke so many waste and stakes were so high and everyone was talking about that fight.”

In addition to gaining the victory, Evans had to overcome some adversity in this fight, so that he only looks back on it with fonder memories.

“I finally get up and take it off, but that was nice.”
