Daniel Cormier believes that the UFC schedule for 2025 should end with a pay-per-view with head through four of the all-time big ones of Women's MMA.
Plans for the last events of 2025 begin to come together, after Khabib Nurmagomedov leaked that a blockbuster title fight takes place in Madison Square Garden in November.
After Tom Aspinall, Magomed Ankalaev and Merab Dvalishvili defend their belts during the two October Pay-per-Views, 'The Eagle' revealed that Islam Makhachev Jack della Maddalena will challenge UFC 322, the annual skills of the year.
Together with a CO-Main event for MSG, that news leaves the promotion that requires one or two championship fights for the numbered event of December, and one legend only has the matchups in mind.
Daniel Cormier Pitches PPV with the head by Kayla Harrison vs Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko vs. Zhang Weili
During a recent episode of the Good Guy/Bad Guy show on the YouTube channel of ESPN MMA, Cormier responded to the Lek of Khabib for della Maddalena vs Makhachev next to colleague -for example Jager Chael Sonnen.
The couple discussed potential Co-Main events for the map and 'DC' landed on the expected defense of flight weight King Alexandre Pantoja against Joshua van.
In turn, that would free up the last pay-per-view of the year for a completely female title fight on the line-up, in which Amanda Nunes Kayla Harrison challenges in the Bantamweight Main Event and a long-awaited superfight between Flightweight Queen Valentina Shevchenko and Zang Weili.
“What about the end of the annual card, Amanda-Kayla, Weili-Valentina, Josh van-Pantoja in the (UFC 322) Co-Main event?” Cormier threw.
'Josh van's Young. That is the type of man who will quickly turn around. And Pantoja? Pantoja has put it on dudes lately.
“So I think that of Pantoja (in November), because I think we should go completely female in December to end the year,” Cormier added.
The stage was set for the Nunes comeback after Harrison had submitted Julianna Pena to UFC 316 last June. After months of return talk, the Brazilian legend resigned to retire by waiting for her victorious ex-teammate in the Octagon in Newark.
If that fight comes with a Co-Main event between Shevchenko and Weili, it would only be the second PPV in UFC history that is led by two women's fights. The first was UFC 193 in 2015, with Joanna Jedrzejczyk's Strowegen defense against Valerie Letourneau de Podium for the title -winning performance of Holly Holm against Ronda Rousey.
Zhang Weili called Valentina Shevchenko for Champ vs Champ Super Fight
Just like Cormier, many expect the following assignments for Shevchenko and Zhang to come against each other instead of contenders within their own divisions.
The Super Fight spoke was fueled for the first time after Shevchenko defended Manon Fiorot on UFC 315 last May to successfully defend the fly weight strap for the first time since she had been home to it in September 2024.
Shortly thereafter, Zhang Shevchenko called a super fight, while the Chinese star wants to secure her shot to join Nunes as only the second woman in the history of UFC to keep two titles.
“Congratulations to the champion,” Zhang wrote in an Instagram remark.
“Everything is perfectly set up, it's fate,” she added, referring to a flying weight movement when pursuing a second title.
