When the UFC returned to Stockholm in 2017, the former light heavyweight title -finer Alexander Gustafsson scored two wins in one night.
Alexander Gustafsson will always be considered one of the greatest hunters to never win a title in the UFC, despite his three attempts.
A large majority of the UFC fanbase still believes that Gustafsson beat Jones when they first met in the cage in 2013.
The legendary Swedish hunter briefly withdrew from the sport in 2019 after a loss against Anthony Smith, but he would return this year to fight against Ovince St-Preux in GFL, but the event was canceled.

Alexander Gustafsson scored a brutal Ko -victory on Teixeira
After a split loss of decision against Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight title, Gustafsson recovered with a unanimous decision victory on Jan Bachowicz just less than a year later.
The promotion then announced that they returned to Stockholm, Sweden in 2017, and 'The Mauler' was the only hunter who was logical to head the event.
The kickboker was matched against UFC veteran, Glover Teixeira, who came behind a victory against Jared Cannonier.
Despite the fact that neither hunters in particular held a long wintreak in the division, it was seen as a potential number one contender fight, where the winner might look at fighting Jones.
From the opening round, the Swede completely dominated the Brazilian veteran with his striking, and during the fight it became clear that Gustafsson's noticeable was just too much for Teixeira.
After dominating the first four rounds, Gustafsson scored one of the most brutal knockouts of all time in round five after he had hit Teixeira with three consecutive right upper cuts before taking a step back and a last right hook unleashed, sleeping Teixeira.

After Gustafsson just scored one of the most unique and brutal knockouts of all time, Gustafsson was not ready there when he called his girlfriend in the Octagon.
“I love you and thank you for having a baby, I love you with all my heart, do you want to marry me?” Gustafsson asked as he sat down on one knee.
His girlfriend then said yes, and the Swedish crowd burst into excavation as they sang the name of Gustafsson.
