UFC legend says Conor McGregor warned fans about his UFC retirement a decade ago, ‘not surprised’ he’s staying away

The UFC career of Conor McGregor seems to put an end, although it is not that surprising.

The former UFC champion was supposed to refrain with Michael Chandler on UFC 303. Conor McGregor, however, withdrew from the Chandler fight and sustained an injury in which the blockbuster was canceled.

McGregor's fight still has to be rearranged, while Chael Sonen does not believe the reason for McGregor to withdraw the event.

With the presidential ambitions of McGregor, it seems likely that his fighting career is over forever and that fans will no longer see him in the Octagon.

There is always drama and mystery around the Irishman, although a UFC legend is not surprised by him at all

Matt Brown is not surprised to see Conor McGregor retirement from the UFC

Although many are shocked to possibly hang McGregor his gloves, UFC legend Matt Brown is in the least surprised.

He reminded fans that McGregor told people what he was going to do earlier in his career, which indicates his intentions to earn his money and go out of sport.

Brown spoke on hunter versus writer and said:

“He told us about 10 years ago what he was going to do. Do you remember that he was talking about it?” I'm going inside, I'm going to take over, I'm going to earn money and then I go out the F – out. “

“He said that something is brutal in the style of this game, you don't want to be too long. He told us so many 8 or 10 years ago. He literally told us and he did it.

“This is not surprising at all. He likes to be in the news. He likes to stay relevant and to stop his two cents in everything. He kept his voice there and we all paid attention and we are still talking about it.

“He did that well. A good task of playing the media. I told you before, he is ready. I think he just confirms what we already knew.”

Although his return was meant to be at UFC 303, McGregor has not fought in the Octagon since Back-To-Back Losing Dustin Poirier in 2021.

A switch to politics cannot indicate the end of McGregor's fighting career

Although they have withdrawn from this fight and hints on a move to politics, McGregor still has ambitions to fight in the UFC.

The former UFC champion says he wants to run to become President of Ireland, met McGregor Donald Trump while sustaining his political activity.

He admitted that he wants to become president while fighting in the Octagon, something that no other hunter has ever done.
