Chael Sonnen thinks that Charles Oliveira will incorrectly prove history by beating Ilia Topuria
UFC legend Chael Sonnen has surprisingly supported Oliveira to beat Topuria in their main event and to go against many experts before UFC 317.
The always controversial 'villain' thinks that the Brazilian 'will prove the history to be wrong' by eliminating the unbeaten Topuria on Saturday.
Sonnen said on his YouTube channel: “History is very clear about this. You could even put boxing in it. You have two former world champions who are going to fight.
“The smaller world champion, the man who comes from his weight class, and the younger of the two wins every time.
“That is a big word for me to use. Every time. Yes, every time. You will find no exception to what I just said. And with that I have Charles Oliveira.”
He continued and continued to say: “I think this concept of beating Charles is new, but it is very difficult to do. I have seen people coming very close. I have seen Charles down, I have seen referees coming in.
“I just think Charles will go through that fire. I will say that history will be shown incorrectly on Saturday. I am taking Charles Oliveira through TKO.”
Sonnen did not succeed in becoming world champion during his career, but came so close many times.
Ilia Topuria can match Conor McGregor by holding these two belts with weight class
If he defies Sonnen on UFC 317, Topuria Conor McGregor can match to become a champion in the two weight classes.
Only the Irishman has kept the UFC feed weight and lightweight titles and became the double champion by beating Eddie Alvarez on UFC 205.
However, the performance of McGregor was slightly more impressive because it held both the UFC -Fedweight and the lightweight titles at the same time.
He has left the featherweight title without defending it because of inactivity, making his status functionally comparable as a double champion with Topuria that the belt will volunteer earlier this year.
Although Topuria would not be the double champion, he would still join McGregor as the only person who has both title tires in their career.
