UFC Mexico City predictions: Brandon Moreno to earn decision win, Joe Pyfer to impress and more

UFC Fight Night returns to Mexico City on Saturday 29 March, with many home -hunters who have been set to compete.

At the top of the card, the first UFC champion Brandon Moreno from Mexico will be back in action against Steve Erceg. A victory for the number two-arranged Moreno could help him to set up a lightweight title fight against the all-victory Alexandre Pantoja-Die De Riem of Moreno won on UFC 290.

Elsewhere on the map, the powerful puncher Joe Pyfer will compete against Kevin Gastelum, and Rising Star – and the youngest UFC ever – Raul Rosas JR will also be in action again.

In anticipation of UFC Mexico City, the experts of Bloody Elbow made their choices for winners in two main events, the performance of the night and fight of the night.

Brandon Moreno vs Steve Erceg prediction

Former champion Brandon Moreno is back to the drawing table after his first non-title fight since 2020.

The bloody elbow editorial team is, as expected, supported Moreno to restore his struing from recent defeats to Alexandre Pantoja and long-term rival Brandon Royval in Mexico City on March 29.

A victory for the number two-arranged Moreno would go a long way to help his hope for a rematch against Pantoja for the lightweight title, and it would also be his first UFC victory ever in his home country of Mexico-Hij lost two and rather attracted one match, with his most recent defeat that almost led to his retirement.

The loss would be a third in the spider for ERCEG, which had previously had a series of 11 straight MMA victories prior to losses for Pantoja and Kai Kara-France on UFC 301 and 305 respectively.

Manuel Torres vs Drew dober -forecast

The Co-Main event is one of the most closely fought matches of the night, with the Mexican Manuel Torres a decision victory just according to two of our bloody elbow experts.

'El Loco' wants to bounce back on March 29 from his first loss in UFC after having had a TKO loss for Ignacio Bahamondes on UFC 306. The 30-year-old certainly showed enough during his impressive three-pyx winning streak on fighting evenings prior to that loss and will be a return to a return to a home game.

Kyle has rightly pointed to the potential of an upset in this thanks to Drew Dober's impressive striking skill. The veteran has the opportunity to end a Vecht with a single blow, as proof of the fact that his last seven UFC victories have all come through KO/TKO.

Vecht from the night in UFC Mexico City

Two of our experts have chosen Torres vs Dober as their leader for Fight of the Night, and with such a narrow competition predicted by many, it is very easy to see why.

Chris has chosen Ronaldo Rodriguez vs Kevin Borjas as a potential fight by the night candidate. Rodriguez is a rising star in Mexico thanks to his recent run of seven straight victories – two of which came since making his UFC debut in February 2024.

Borjas will be an interesting test for the 25-year-old in Mexico City. The Peruvian needs a UFC victory after losing his first two fights under contract, and will be happy to impress Rodriguez.

Night execution in UFC Mexico City

Joe Pyfer has already earned three different occasions in his UFC career in his UFC career in the nightlines. The middleweight is one of the feel -good stories of recent times in MMA, where Pyfer has emerged from homelessness to UFC star in recent years.

Kyle believes that the long-awaited first victory of Moreno in his home country will be enough to earn him his fourth career performance from the Night Subjunction, while Chris has chosen another Mexican in David Martinez to win his reputation as a knockoutist against Saimon Oliveira. So far, the Mexican has won 82% of his MMA matches through KO/TKO in his career.
