Morgan Carriere overwhelms Nate Landwehr with 16-punch Combo on UFC Nashville
Carriere was successful against the forward pressure of Landwehr early, with the help of his reach and timing to land some large shots on his opponent. Landwehr ended around 1 with a nasty cut on his face after taking a series of huge bumps from Carriere.
But Landwehr bounced back nicely in round 2 and surpasses Carriere on the feet. Landwehr landed 43 important strikes for the 33 of Carriere, and the favorite in Tennessee seemed to be about to end the night with a victory.
But Carriere fought like a man who was possessed when round 3 started. While the two moved to the center of the Octagon, Charriere threw a 16-punch combination, with Landwehr against the fence under pressure before he knocked down his rival for less than half a minute.
During the scor cards of the jury members, two of the jury members scored the 19-19 between Landwehr and Charriere who entered around 3, making the late approach to Charriere the whole more impressive approach. But Carriere is no stranger to wild exchanges in the Octagon and earns three after-fighting performance during his UFC official period.
As far as Landwehr, he has lost three of his last four fights after the defeat against Carriere. In the meantime, Carriere returned to UFC Nashville after a unanimous loss of decision for Nathaniel Wood in March.
