UFC parts ways with top heavyweight contender who went 7-1 in the Octagon

The newest release of the UFC has fans scratched their heads.

The UFC Heavyweight Division is not the best it has been, far from, with the weight class in a bit of a transition period after the MMA pension of Jon Jones in June.

Tom Aspinall is now the ruling, defensive undisputed heavyweight champion, which needs new contenders. But instead the new champion will settle for former interim champion Ciryl Gane, who will redeem his fourth title on UFC 321 on 25 October.

Ranked in various places among them, the UFC recently said goodbye to a heavyweight competition who was not that far from a title fight with a few more victories.

Buday went 7-1 in the UFC, with a second one of his victories on a decision. Buday handed former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski a split loss of decision last summer.

“Cutting 7-1 heavyweights. The division is thin enough. I don't get it,” said a fan about Buday's UFC room.

The 33-year-old from the only loss of Slovakia in the Octagon was a standing TKO result for Shamil Gaziev in 2023. Buday rode an eight-fighter finish streak before signing at the UFC.

Yes, it is true, yesterday we received a phone call that @UFC will not resign us for the time being, “Buday confirmed on Thursday on X.

“Well, it is what it is with my head up. Thank you.”

Renato Moicano says that UFC is not about being good, it is entertainment

Despite Buday's Solid CV of victories, there was not much name value behind 'Badys'.

Buday was not a Finisher in the UFC, nor was he a fan favorite, and what former title challenge Renato Moicano is that the best promotion is about.

“UFC is not going to be good,” Micano told me the Money Podcast on the show.

“It's about coordinating people to watch,” Micano continued.

'Do you remember Tony Ferguson? Eight? [fight] Losing streak and he [was] Still in the UFC, everyone [loves him]…

“This is not a sport. This is entertainment …

'If you are very good, but nobody knows you, people don't do that [watch]”Said Micano and refused to view the UFC 319 Co-Main event between former Bellator Fighter Aaron Pico and Lerone Murphy.
