Khamzat Chimaev is weeks away from the biggest fight of his career to date.
Since he appeared as one of the most exciting hunters in the sport when he arrived in the UFC for the first time, fans have expected Chimaev to compete at the top of the sport.
The first title fight of the unbeaten star will take place in Chicago on August 16 when he challenges Dricus du Plessis in the main event of UFC 319.
The Chimaev training camp in the United States seems to be planning while he wants to go outside different issues that have stopped him in the past.
At the age of 31 it seems that he finally arrived where he should have been a few years ago, but this climb may not take too much longer.
Caio Borralho claims that he has heard rumors that Khamzat could retire Chimaev if he wins at UFC 319
In a recent interview with MMA today, Caio Borralho made a daring claim about Khamzat Chimaev and his future in sport.
After training with Chimaev in the past, the Brazilian could come forward as the next competition in line for a shot on the belt if he can pass Nassourdine Imavov on 6 September.
Borralho claimed in the interview that he heard rumors and 'whispering' that the medium -sized challenger of the middleweight might be looking for the gloves if he is successful on August 16.
“I heard somewhere, some people say that when he wins the belt, he will retire. I think so.
Borralho continued to mention various reasons why Chimaev retired shocking at this stage in his career.
“There is too much pressure on him. He has health problems and a lot of pressure from his country … He already has a lot of money, like a lot of money, he is good with money … I would do the same if I were him.”
It is worth noting that many of the answers to his comments from the fans were critical about Borralho for making incorrect statements in the past.
Khamzat Chimaev has had several big setbacks to finally reach a UFC title shot
When Khamzat Chimaev debuted in the UFC for the first time in 2020, he immediately became one of the most discussed hunters in the sport.
'Borz' brought three dominant victories together in the space of a few months and could have become the next candidate in line for a shot at the Welterweight title within six months after the promotion was his first matchup with Leon Edwards.
Although he remains unbeaten in the Octagon, the momentum of Chimaev deliberately deliberately delayed due to various important health problems that have led to long gaps of inactivity.
He seems to have finally put this behind him, so seeing him running away while he is at the top, would be incredibly disappointing, even if he had several reasons to do this.
