UFC Seattle adds two GOATs to main and co-main events as event is fully confirmed

Only a week into 2025 and the UFC is already making some bold moves; with two iconic former champions added to an already stacked Fight Night card in Seattle.

Not only is former Olympic, flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry “Triple C” Cejudo returning to action, but so is the man he once defeated for the 135-pound title.

'Stacked' UFC Fight Night: Seattle card adds two former champions

UFC Fight Night: Seattle is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, and as long as there are no last-minute cancellations, that event could very well be one of the best non-PPV cards of the year.

Earlier this morning, UFC Chief Executive Business Officer Hunter Campbell confirmed via ESPN that both Henry Cejudo and Dominick Cruz have been added to that card in the main and co-main events, respectively.

Cejudo will reportedly face No. 8 ranked Song Yadong, while Cruz will face bantamweight veteran and No. 9 ranked Rob Font.

'Triple C' is coming off back-to-back losses to Aljamain Sterling and Merab Dvalishvili, though he has seemingly taken Khabib Nurmagomedov's advice to heart as he hunts for a third UFC world title.

China's own Song Yadong competed just once in 2024, leaving a unanimous decision to Petr Yan. Although he's only 27 years old, there's plenty of time for the 'Kung Fu Kid' to get back into the title mix.

There's less time for Dominick Cruz, who hasn't competed since suffering a fourth-round KO loss to Marlon Vera in August 2022. His next opponent, Rob Font, bounced back from back-to-back losses with a solid UD win over Kyler Philips last October.

The rest of the UFC Fight Night: Seattle card is stacked from top to bottom, featuring Edson Barboza, Anthony Hernandez, Brendan Allen and Curtis Blaydes.

The card will also reportedly feature Michael Chiesa; However, his opponent has yet to be announced.

The fight order has not been officially confirmed by the UFC.

UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs Song is scheduled for Saturday, February 22 at Climate Pledge Arena in Washington.
