Cory Sandhagen thought he ended the life of a sparring partner after he had surrendered him from a knee to the head.
UFC Bantamweight candidate Cory Sandhagen is located in 'War mode' prior to his return to the cage against DEIVESON Figueiredo in UFC des Moines in May. Sandhagen returns after a unanimous decision loss for the former title Challenger Umar Nurmagomedov last year in Abu Dhabi.
Sandhagen is known as one of the most dangerous strikers in the UFC Bantamweight Division; Earning wild knockouts against people like Marlon Moraes and Frankie Edgar. His flying knee knockout from Edgar was a candidate 'Knock -Out of the Year' in 2021.
Sandhagen is laser -oriented on Figueiredo and is working on a potential title shot. In a recent sparring session with one of his teammates, the intensity of Sandhagen was overloaded.

'Gym Bully' Cory Sandhagen admitted that he thought he had killed a recent sparring partner
During a recent performance on the Ariel Helwani show, Sandhagen explained how he left a recent sparring partner after landing a brutal knee.
“I can be a bit of a gym,” Sandhagen admitted. “We get better together, and that guy, that is actually one of my most important training partners and a man I coach pretty closely … Connor [Owens] Had a fight, so I didn't easily go on that day …
“I swear for God, I had a moment when I thought I had killed someone and it really scared me because afterwards happened … When I looked and saw blood. I thought:” Am I calling the police or hurry him to the hospital right away? “, And I see he laughed and my brain didn't know what to do.”
It appears that Connor Owens, an amateur MMA hunter, drank beet juice for his spruce with Sandhagen and that is what he surrendered instead of blood. But Sandhagen had an immediate gloomy response to landing the knee on Owens and feared the worst.
Fortunately, Owens will stay on schedule later this month for his professional debut at Fury FC 103. Sandhagen is confronted with Figueiredo only a few weeks later.
Cory Sandhagen is correct on the door of a title shot that comes in UFC des Moines
While Sandhagen is preparing for UFC des Moines, he has the chance to earn a title shot when beating Figueiredo. UFC Bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O'Malley were able to collide in a rematch later this year, with top candidates such as Sandhagen waiting in the wings.
Dvalishvili broke the UFC record of Georges St-Pierre of all time for Takedowns in his most recent victory over Nurmagomedov. He earned the belt by performing O'Malley on UFC 306 last September.
UFC CEO Dana White recently hinted that the Dvalishvili vs. O'Malley Rematch was the next Bantamweight title battle booking. But from this letter nothing has been announced by the promotion.
Sandhagen runs up the intensity for his Figueiredo collision, and he trains with a chip on his shoulder after one of his one of his UFC defeats.
