UFC Light Heavyweight Competent Khalil Rountree Jr. shared a unique reason for the abandoned glove design of the promotion.
The UFC decided to return to its old glove design only seven months after the reconstruction. From April to November 2024, fighters put on gloves that it was hoped to reduce harvests and hand lesions.
Championship Fighters wore golden gloves for title fights, and the prospects of Dana White's Contender Series wore blue gloves while they fought for UFC contracts. The new glove design attracted mixed reviews from hunters, and in short it was said that Jon Jones printed the UFC to completely abolish the new gloves.

After the UFC decided to return to the old gloves for UFC 309 last November, speculation quickly ran unbridled about the reason behind the abrupt change. Some speculated whether or not the sudden reduction of knockouts had to do with the new glove design.
According to a UFC star, the new gloves had one important problem that hunters had to do in the middle of fights.
In a recent performance at the Joe Rogan experience, Khalil Rountree Jr. Why the UFC abolished their new gloves, and the reason is not what you would expect.

UFC analyst Joe Rogan has repeatedly recommended MMA coach Trevor Wittman's glove design as the best in the sport. Wittman and the UFC were in short negotiations to buy the gloves before the conversations got stuck in recent years.

In the meantime, Rountree will try to earn a slightly heavyweight title shot with a victory in his upcoming fight against Jiri Prochazka on UFC 320. The light heavyweight bolt functions on the UFC 320 -head card behind the two title fights of the event, including the Magomed Ankalaev vs. Alex Pereira Rematch.
Rountree returns after a victory over Jamahal Hill at UFC Baku last month. PrOCHAZKA has not fought anymore since he hit Hill at UFC 311 earlier this year.
Both Rountree and Prochazka want to earn potential rematches with Pereira after UFC 320. But if Pereira drops to 0-2 against Ankalaev, the light heavyweight gets the chance to destroy the new division champion.
