UFC star shockingly reveals his family celebrated recent loss… ‘Do you know how much that eats you?’

Last December at UFC 310, Themba Gorimbo suffered his first loss in five fights after being choked unconscious by former ranked contender, Vicente Luque.

After four impressive victories on the bounce, Themba Gorimbo moved closer and closer to the welterweight rankings and a win over Vicente Luque would have finally put a number next to his name.

Despite this, 'The Answer' unfortunately suffered the fifth defeat of his professional career when the Brazilian choked him unconscious in the very first round.

Themba Gorimbo reveals his own family celebrated his UFC 310 loss

Since joining the UFC in 2023, Gorimbo has become a favorite among fans who have learned his extremely emotional backstory.

Gorimbo used to be a blood diamond smuggler in his home country of Zimbabwe, but fled to South Africa. He was then deported from South Africa, where he began learning martial arts and made the journey to the United States.

Gorimbo trained at the MMA Masters in Florida with the likes of Colby Covington, with whom he subsequently fell out, and slept on a mattress in the gym because he had nowhere else to stay.

His story was then learned by The Rock, who got him a home and changed his life. While there are many people on the 33-year-old's side, it seems there are those who are praying for his demise.

“When I go online like one of my cousins, I can't pronounce his name, but like he messaged me the day after I lost this last fight, some of my cousins celebrated my loss, they all celebrated my loss” , Gorimbo explained on the Pivot podcast.

“He sent me a video of them in a place where we were fifteen years ago, this little circle in Danone, where it's a slum… And these cousins of mine were celebrating my loss and do you know how much that eats you up? All I'm trying to do is do better for everyone,” Gorimbo continued.

“People think I'm a millionaire because I'm in the UFC. I'm not. Maybe one day I will be, but the reality is I'm not.”

Dricus Du Plessis agrees with Gorimbo's comments

Following Gorimbo's disturbing revelation, UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis provided alarming commentary on the situation.

“Yes, because everyone you know would (celebrate your loss),” Du Plessis noted.

Prior to this situation, there was no indication that Gorimbo and 'Stillknocks' had beef, but 'Stillknocks' is clearly not a fan of the Zimbabwean for some reason.

The two previously trained together when Gorimbo lived in South Africa and it is unclear whether the two fell out after Gorimbo moved to the United States.
