UFC Vegas 104 star is one of three fighters to score insanely rare submission victory in the Octagon

Da'mon Blackshear is one of only three hunters in the UFC history that score the extremely rare Twister entrance.

The coming Saturday at UFC Vegas 104, Roman Dolidze will take on Marvin Vettori in the main event, hoping to take revenge on 'The Italian Dream' of his loss of him at UFC 286.

Fighting on the main map are also hopeful on the main map, Da'mon Blackshear and Cody Gibson with both hunters who want to take a step closer to the ranking of the Bantam weight.

'Da Monster' was once considered a dark horse in the 135LB division after scoring back-to-back Finishes against Luan Lacerda and Jose Johnson, with his finish against Johnson who placed him in an exclusive club.

When Blackshear stood against Johnson in 2023, the 30-year-old showed his clumsiness and unique style, both on the feet and on the ground.

Only a few minutes after the fight, Blackshear Johnson locked in one of the rarest entries in MMA and only scored the third Twister retention in the UFC history.

“I finally went for a rear choke species grabbed, I finally tried to slide to his temple to trying to crush his spine and while I am there and putting pressure on, I thought:” I have to break this dudic vertebrae to let him tap, “and that said BlackShe after his win.

“I knew it was quite rare, I didn't know how often it actually had hit … I wanted to write history,” he went on.

The first Twister entrance was scored by UFC legend, Chan Sung Jung, better known as 'The Korean Zombie', when he adjusted the rare entry against Leonard Garcia in 2011.

It was then more than eight years until the next Twister submission was scored in the UFC Octagon, when Bryce Mitchell Matt Sayles spent in 2019.

The opponent of Blackshear next Saturday is someone who has received a second bite from the Kers in his career. 'The Rennegade' Gibson earned a second chance in the UFC after participating in the Ultimate Fighter 31.

Gibson's first stint in the promotion in 2014 did not go exactly to plan and after debuting against Aljamain Sterling, who became a champion in the division, he was cut after going 1-3.

Gibson made his UFC debut at the age of 26, prior to his fight, Gibson admitted that he regretted hard spar in his 20s.

“There are many things that I would have changed (my career), some of the hard sparring in my early 1920s and things like that … I have some submission losses early in my career that I think I have a little pursuing,” he told the UFC in an interview.
