Hyun Sung Park is the next flight weighter of the UFC
Park and Hernandez wasted little time to get to the Octagon, where Hernandez landed a number of heavy legs in the fight for a few seconds. But Park seemed fearless because of the early strokes, so that he eventually secured a huge Takedown and quickly got the back of Hernandez.
While Hernandez tried to switch out of a dangerous position, Park would not allow him to move while he strangled Hernandez with a brutal body slot. With the back of Hernandez changed to the park, the unbeaten flying weight Hernandez tapped with a coded choke to secure the victory of the first round.
Park's finish expanded its continuous stripe streak to nine victories while he remains unbeaten in his professional and UFC official period. After securing a contract via Road to UFC in October 2022, Park went through each of its three UFC opponents.
The newest victory of Park comes after a brutal liver shot had ended Shannon Ross during a UFC Fight Night event in December 2023. But although it is striking of Park, his wrestling is considered a matchup -night mare for many of the contenders of the division.
At a time when the UFC division continues to flower fly weight, the rise of Park adds an intriguing name to the mix at 125 pounds. Towards the end of the year, Park could be very well in the top 15 and knock on the door of a potentially flying weight.
