UFC Vegas 108 star reveals how ‘bad move’ from teammate led to their upcoming matchup… ‘Make his wish come true’

The Octagon returns to the Apex on Saturday evening, where two hunters who called the same gym at home will collide.

UFC Vegas 108 will take place on 2 August with a map that may not have the same level of star power that fans have seen in recent weeks.

The main event was changed at the late message with Tatsuro Taira now opposite Hyun Sung Park in the flying weight Headliner.

In the Co-Main event, two light weights that have a good track record will be in the first time in the Octagon.

Chris Duncan has credited Dustin Poirier for his back-to-back entrance, and will expand his winning series to three in his sixth UFC outing.

Chris Duncan remembers how Mateusz Rebecki offered him to fight him in the short term while they were teammates

Chris Duncan is opposed to Mateusz Rebecki on 2 August, but the road to UFC Vegas 108 was not the first time that this matchup was a potential option.

After Duncan Dana White surprised with his victory of the competition, the debut opponent of the Scottish Fighter withdrew, leaving the UFC to find him a replacement.

'The problem' recently spoke during the Mediadag about how Rebecki had offered to board despite the fact that they were training partners at the American top team at the time.

Duncan thanked his gym because he was so professional for this fight and keeping the preparations of both men separate, but he is now happy that he has the chance to answer Rebecki.

“When he heard that my opponent had withdrawn, he said,” I'll fight against you. “We had already been to the gym together, so I seemed a bit like:” We should be teammates. “I told him on Twitter, I just said:” Go in line.

“So when this fight came in line later, Sean Shelby sent his name over. I am a man who likes to give and his wish was to fight me, so I gave him that wish. I think it is a bad move on him, but I was happy to do it … It is what it is and as I say, I will make his wish come true.”

Chris Duncan jokes that he did not have to think twice about accepting this matchup in view of his current contract

Chris Duncan noticed jokes during his media day interviews that he would fight against his own family with his current contract when asked if there was a second thought to accept this matchup.

From the perspective of the UFC it seems like a no-brainer to put together these two light weights, despite their loyalty to the American top team.

Both Duncan and Mateusz Rebecki have recently earned performance bonuses with this clash of styles that will probably give a peak.

'The problem' will hope that after Saturday night his opponent will regret to put his name in the mix to step in and face him.
