UFC’s oldest female fighter almost pulls off standing submission in final Octagon appearance

A former UFC title title hung on their gloves on Saturday evening at a loss.

The UFC returned to Nashville for an Action-Packed Fight Night event with head with heads Derrick Lewis and the 6'7 ″ Tallison Teixeira, bound for the fifth highest hunter in UFC history.

The Undercard contained a third straight heel for entry for heavyweight Valter Walker and in the ladies' divisions, Fatima Kline scored an Epic Head Knockout earlier in the night.

The UFC Nashville -Prelims also saw the oldest female hunter on the Roster retired after 23 pro fights.

Lauren Murphy is retiring after almost the finish against Eduarda Moura on UFC Nashville

Lauren Murphy has decided to retire from MMA at 41.

Once in the top 5 of the women's division for women, 'Lucky' went four rounds with Valentina Shevchenko on UFC 266 in 2021. Since the title fight loss, Murphy has been struggling to stay busy in the Octagon, who are only fighting twice in the last 3 years.

Murphy was matched 11-1 Brazilian Eduarda Moura for her pension fight. Moura passed Murphy's wealth of experience with a decisive victory and presented her striking match against the 14-meal UFC veteran.

Murphy went the distance in her last fight and lost a unanimous decision to an opponent, 10 years younger than she did.

But before she did, Murphy almost took off a Guillotine submission in the third round. Murphy tried the choke off the ground and then on the feet again. Moura survived the late fear and heard the last bell for her third UFC victory.

Lauren Murphy's career height points contain a victory over former UFC champion

Lauren Murphy made her Pro MMA debut in 2010 and won eight consecutive fights to her UFC debut in 2014.

Murphy had two stints in the UFC. She was released in 2016, but returned to the big show in 2017 after participating in season 26 of 'The Ultimate Fighter'.

Murphy has victories on former title -seconder Roxanne Modafferi, multi -year competitor Joanne Wood, Andrea Lee and MMA pioneer Barb Honchak for Women.

The biggest victory of Murphy's career was a unanimous decision effort on the former Bantam weight champion Miesha Tate for former UFC ladies, who presented Holly Holm in 2016 to win the title. The boxer returned from her title fight to Valentina Shevchenko in the process.
