Unai Emery prepared to axe Ollie Watkins to secure Aston Villa reunion with Chelsea star

Aston Villa -Spits Ollie Watkins' Future is uncertain after he is strongly connected to a move to Manchester United and his manager Unai Emery is willing to discharge the player to land Nicolas Jackson

Aston Villa Boss Unai Emery wants to be reunited with Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson – and he is willing to sell star man Ollie Watkins to do it.

Emery helped Jackson's career to feed at Villarreal before he left for Villa – nine months before Chelsea entered a successful bid of £ 32 million.

Now Emery is ready to test Chelsea's determination on the Senegal International, which is also on the desired list of Manchester United and Newcastle.

Chelsea has submitted a fee of £ 80 million for the 24-year-old, who signed a contract of eight years.

That would mean that Villa must cash in the English striker Watkins that is already on the Radar of Manchester United and Newcastle.

Watkins, 29, is supposed to want a new challenge and is restless due to the constant transfer interviews during the summer.

In addition to Jackson, Emery has looked at other goals, including RB Leipzig's Belgian striker Lois Openda who would become cheaper than the Chelsea star, the German club that wants around £ 40 million.

But Jackson is Emery's first choice and hopes that she will lower the asking price in which Chelsea Liam Delap and Joao Pedro brought in and is about to make RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons.

Jackson has received criticism of his goals since he came to Chelsea in 2023, despite the scoring of 17 times in his first season and 13 in the last campaign.

He recently spoke about his future after a reporter suggested that he was dealing with “competition” from Delap and Pedro.

“Competition? I don't have competition,” he told DSports TV. “We are all there to help the club. Everyone has to play their role. I am on a mission. It is up to the coach to make his choices. I only concentrate on my work.”

“I am a Chelsea player. The future belongs to God. If there are changes, you know. For now I am focused on my preparation.”

“It's football, there are ups and downs. Last season we won two trophies. There were difficult moments, moments of glory. Every season is so. But the most important thing is to stay focused, to learn and grow in the face of adversity.”
