Unbeaten featherweight plans to ‘chase down’ Ilia Topuria after shocking lightweight move

Movsar Evloev really wants to fight against Ilia Topuria.

The current UFC -Fedweight title holder Ilia Topuria is in his last weeks as champion after announcing a switch to lightweight and title holiday. Despite the first speculation that a rematch with Alexander Volkanovski would take place before Topuria left the division, the Vederweight Division will continue with an empty title fight between Volkanovski and Diego Lopes on UFC 314.

Topuria's addition to the lightweight division opens the door to potential matchups with people such as Islam Makhachev, Arman Tsarukyan and Charles Oliveira. At the moment, a period of time for the return from Topuria to the Octagon is uncertain.

In anticipation of Volkanovski vs. Lopes, Movsar Evloev has a keen eye on the upcoming fight and he had a strong response to Topuria's leave of the division.

Movsar EVLOEV sends hurifying warning to Ilia Topuria after departure from Vederweight

During a recent interview with Home of Fight, Evloev Topuria warned after leaving the featherweight division.

“Yes [it upset me]”Evloev said. 'First, I need this [featherweight] Title, and then I go after him. Don't fight for the title necessarily, but he. He beat almost everyone in the featherweight division, so he is stronger than everyone here. Except me. Me and he, there is a question between us.

“I let people know who is the strongest featherweight, even when we fight at lightweight.”

Evloev and Topuria would fight earlier in their career at UFC 270 before Evloev withdrew from the event. Evloev died the rankings of featherweight with recent victories over Aljamain Sterling, Arnold Allen and Lopes.

At the moment Topuria has not responded to Evloev's comments.

Ilia Topurias desired fight with Islam Makhachev is not certain for the next game

Topuria's switch to lightweight was originally expected to lead to an immediate title shot against Makhachev. But UFC CEO Dana White recently hinted that there are different options for the next fight from Topuria, including a collision with another top candidate such as Tsarukyan or Oliveira.

If Evloev wins the leash of featherweight, he would probably have to leave it to go to lightweight and fight Topuria. Lopes recently claimed that the UFC matchmakers no longer allow title holders to fight for two belts at the same time.

The Makhakev manager recently rejected Topuria for the following title, despite the fact that his coach seemed to endorse the booking of the fight. Makhachev is expected to return to the Octagon later this summer for his next defending defense after a quick finish at UFC 311 in January.

The lightweight movement of Topuria continues to hoard many newspaper heads. But don't be surprised if Evloev vs. Topuria from the line comes with lightweight, depending on how things play.
