Unbeaten prospect set to face Tatsuro Taira in new UFC Vegas 108 headliner after flyweight’s days’ notice withdrawal

An undefeated flight weight occurs in the short term to save the UFC Vegas 108 card on Saturday.

UFC Flyweight candidate Tatsuro Taira was supposed to be seen in a crucial matchup to head UFC Vegas 108 in the Apex this Saturday. But only a few days before the event, Albazi withdrew from the fight due to an injury, making the UFC matchmakers left behind for a last-minute replacement.

Some speculated whether or not the UFC would continue with the persistent UFC Vegas 108 card and a new main event, or whether the promotion could encounter a willing opponent for Taira. Fortunately, the matchmakers did not have to prevent their recent crisis for long.

Tatsuro Taira is debilitating received flight weight in New UFC Vegas 108 Main Event

As reported on Monday morning, the unbeaten flying weight Hyun Sung Park will be confronted this Saturday opposite Taira in the new UFC Vegas 108 Main Event. The fight will be a five-rounder on 125 pounds, as planned for Taira vs. Albazi.

UFC Vegas 108 will be a huge spotlight for Asian MMA, with two regional headliners. Park, a road to the double winner of UFC, is 29 years old and will enter the Taira fight with an undefeated 10-0 record.

Park is a dangerous entry artist with a most recent first round finish by Carlos Hernandez in May. He defeated Shannon Ross and Seung Guk Choi in 2023, with two of his three UFC victories that came through the rear naked choke.

Park was supposed to make former title -finer Steve Erceg on UFC Vegas 109, led by a middleweight fight between Roman Dolidze and Anthony Hernandez. It is uncertain whether ERCEG will receive a new opponent or will be resisted for a later return date.

Taira wants to come back to the win-column after his first career defeat against Brandon Royval due to a split decision last October. Before the loss for Royval, Taira defeated the will of Alex Perez, Edgar Coersez and CJ Vergara.

Who is Hyun Sung Park?

Park made his professional MMA debut in November 2018 and defeated Min Soo Kwon through a unanimous decision at Double G FC 1. After five straight victories in Double G FC, he earned a shot in Road to UFC in June 2022, eliminating Jeremia Siregar in the first round.

In addition to his slick grab, Park is a dynamic striker, as is apparent from his liver shot from Ross in December 2023. He will set up a strong test for Taira and will not have to be slept for UFC Vegas 108.

UFC Vegas 108 contains the return of veterans such as Neil Magny, Rodolfo Vieira and budding prospects such as Kevin Vallejos. Esteban Riabovics, who defeated Daniel Zellhuber in a 'Fight of the Year' FRONRUNNER on UFC 306 last year, returns to the main map against Elves Brener.
