Bo Nickal says that a fight with Khamzat Chimaev would be one of the most exciting fights that the UFC could do
Despite the meaning of Dricus du Plessis vs Khamzat Chimaev, another middleweight candidate believes that there is a larger fight in the division.
The unbeaten Bo Nickal has been connected to Chimaev since he arrived in the UFC because of the dominant wrestling references of both men.
With four consecutive victories, the American steadily prepared the 185-pound ladder with a big fight against Reinier de Ridder before 3 May.
The 29-year-old is apparently the only competition in the division that could prevent the aggressive and dangerous struggle of Chimaev and that alone makes it incredibly interesting.
Nickal knows that it is not going to happen now, but he told Home of Fight in a recent interview that he believes that the matchup would only be behind Jones vs Aspinall and the next outing of Topuria as the biggest and best fights that the UFC could put together.
“100%, that is the most exciting fight that in my opinion is in the division. I think that as far as the fights in the UFC, you have the top, Jones and Aspinall, you have potential with Islam or a 55'er and then I think the most exciting fights are, I just want to happen.”
Bo Nickal expects Khamzat Chimaev Drus Du Persis to leave
Bo Nickal not only hopes that Khamzat Chimaev will become the middleweight champion so that he can fight him for the title, he believes that 'Borz' will get the gold of Dricus du Plessis.
He gave his prediction for the fight in the same interview where he fell apart where both men have benefits in the expected title fight.
Although he has given Du Plessis some props, Nickal does not believe that something will prepare the South African champion for the struggle of his opponent.
“Tough fight. I think Dricus has the size, he probably has a little better cardio. I think that is striking even, Khamzat clearly has a huge advantage in the wrestling. Everything that considered, I think I would give Khamzat because of that struggling advantage.
“You know, we really didn't see it, you just don't get strong grapplers like they compete. You are not used to it. Whatever Dricus is going to do, he will not be able to play and he will not have felt that of anyone. Really the only two boys I believe in the sport that can feel that I am and Khamzat.”
