Paul Merson has criticized Manchester United's decision not to keep an open bus parade when they pick up the Europa League trophy.
Sky Sports News understands that the club will not break with the tradition after their recent Cup Final Triumphs if they beat Tottenham in the final in Bilbao on 21 May.
Instead, they would have a small party. It has been reported that it would be in the form of a barbecue on the club's training field.
United did not organize a bus parade when they won the Europa League in 2017, the FA Cup in 2016 and 2024, or for the Carabao Cup triumphs in 2017 and 2023.
At Sky Sports, Merson spoke the decision to keep the celebrations in the house as opposed to sharing the moment with the fans, suggesting that the club would omit the supporters.
“The trophies don't get fat and fast,” said Merson. “Man Utd is a million miles out. Enjoy it (trophies) as long as you can.
“For me it is a bit of arrogance.
“Winning trophies was the past, so enjoy the present. Who says they win another 15 years?
“Now they are going to have a BBQ, think of the fans! They will let you know when the parade is whether it was good to do. Do not leave the fans away because it is about the fans.
“I would like a parade. They could win a trophy and if they win it, they won more than Arsenal. Arsenal would like to have a parade. It is hard to win trophies, so it is not difficult to win. It is difficult.”
Amorim 'Shailed' by the competition position
Man Utd suffered their 17th Top-Flight defeat against West Ham in their last outing, with nine of these losses arriving in Old Trafford, and Ruben Amorim will now be instructed to take his way in an attempt to save the campaign with silverware in Bilbao.
Amorim believes that he knows that “what the team should be to be so much better” because he wants to tackle the “unacceptable” position that the club is in the following season.
“I am really ashamed that we won six in 25 games. There is something wrong in the way we play football, and sometimes it's not about the way we play tactically and technically.
“It is the way we are confronted with competition and the way we suffer and the way we get angry because we lose, and the way we protect the goal.
“It doesn't matter if we can change our position in the competition or not – that feeling is nothing about trust. It's about the faith and concept that we are Manchester United, and we don't want to be the worst in the competition.
“Our position is unacceptable and for me that is no lack of trust, that is a lack of a little deeper.”
Trio Miss Training for Chelsea and El Final
In the construction of the Penultimate League match on Friday against Chelsea and the final against Tottenham, United Center-Backs Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Ayden Heaven have all been training.
Amorim could have to do with an exhausted backline against Spurs, based on the open training session of United in Carrington on Wednesday.
Yoro stumbled off during the 2-0 home defeat on Sunday against West Ham with a foot problem and was striking because of his absence during training, as De Ligt was the last weekend after picking up a problem in Brentford.
Heaven worked individually work before last week's second stage against Athletic Bilbao last week, but was not seen during the Wednesday session, in which Jonny Evans participated together with Toby Collyer.
Diogo Dalot did an individual session before the main group trained while he wants to make the final, but Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee are out for the rest of the season.
Evra: Europa League can save the season of the disaster
Former United defender Patrice Evra has called the Europa League final a “crucial moment in the history of the club” to save a disastrous campaign.
United can secure a maximum of 39 points in the season, which would be their worst season on record, while they approach their last two games against Chelsea, live on Sky Sports and Aston Villa.
“It's a disaster. Not a great season and Amorim will know that, I had a meeting with him,” said Evra Sky Sports during a training session of the player community.
“I love his honesty. I want him to succeed, but of course the results are really bad this season.
“It is a process. It is his first year, I see a lot of improvement. Even when I arrived, I had six months to adjust.
“It would be good to play Champions League because of the player we can put on. It is [Europa League final] A crucial moment for the history of the club.
“Bruno Fernandes is the most important player in the team. If he wasn't there, we wouldn't be in the final and it could have been possible [relegation].
“We have to forget this season. I have it confident, but it will be difficult. Good luck for both teams, but come on Man Utd!”
