Unstoppable Salah does it again: Liverpool star joins exclusive EPL club

Salah scored twice in Liverpool's victory over Bournemouth and took him on 21 Premier League goals for the season.

Mohamed Salah and Liverpool is not stopping. The Egyptian star was the match winner for the Arne Slot team against Bournemouth on Saturday (February 1) and scored twice in a 2-0 win that clearly brought the Reds nine points above the Premier League table.

Salah's Double brought him to 21 league goals in 2024/25, three free from Manchester City Striker Erling Erling, who could not keep his excellent early season.

It means that the 32-year-old has now scored at least 20 Premier League goals in five different seasons since he moved to Liverpool in 2017. He did not do this three times three times, in 2019/20, 2022/23 and 2023/24.

Only four other players in the history of the Premier League have achieved the same performance since it was founded in 1992.

Alan Shearer was the first to do this and already scored seven times 20+ competition goals for Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United between 1993/94 and 2003/04.

Former striker of Manchester City Sergio Agüero (between 2011/12 and 2018/19) and ex-Tottenham Hotspur-star Harry Kane (between 2014/15 and 2022/23) reached or surpassed 20 goals six times, with Thierry Henry who corresponds to That achievement in that performance in five consecutive seasons for Arsenal (2001/02 to 2005/06).
