In recent years, Valencia has sold some of their best and most valuable players to comply with FFP, and that trend will certainly continue in 2025. Giorgi Mhaldashvili will already leave after he has agreed to get to Liverpool last summer (but on loan for the 2024-25-says, it seems to be that Cuilthian dea.
In recent seasons, Mosquera has emerged as the best central defender of Valencia, but the result is that clubs circle throughout Europe. Atletico Madrid tried to sign him last summer, and although they are supposed to have retained their interest for 12 months, Milan and Bayern Munich have entered the race since then.
And after new developments this week, the departure of Mosquera seems to be getting closer.
As reported by Marca, Valencia met the agent of Mosquera on Friday to discuss the contracting situation of the 20-year-old. He sees his current deal expired in 2026, and during the conversations it became clear that it is unlikely that there is an extension agreement. As such, a sale this summer is inevitable as a loose Che to move in.
According to the report, Valencia has established a minimum asking price for Mosquera, which is assumed to be in the region of € 15-18 million. For a player of only 20 years and with a very high ceiling, that will certainly see the interest increasing for the summer transfer window in June.
It is still to be seen whether Atleti decides to take a new step for Mosquera 12 months later. They are looking for a new central defender, but at this stage their preferred goal is the Cristian Romero from Tottenham Hotspur. Valencia will hope that this will remain the case, because they will certainly prefer to sell it to a club that is not in La Liga.
