Barcelona has a handful of players they want to load this summer, and several of them will probably be left from their previous season to Japan and South Korea to resolve their future. Veteran -midfielder Oriol Romeu fits both descriptions and looks ready to move up or along the east coast of Spain.
The 33-year-old had for the first time since departure as a La Masia product for Chelsea for Chelsea, but succeeded in Barcelona for the first time in Barcelona, but was unable to impress Xavi Hernandez. Last season he returned to Girona, where his impressive form caught the attention of Barcelona, but fought injuries in a difficult season in Montilivi.
Another of his former parties is apparently interested in Romeu. Sport says that Los Che is interested in returning Romeu, who had spent time in Mestalla on loan while he was contracted in Chelsea. They want to replace Enzo Barrechea, which has returned to Ouderclub Aston Villa, without spending large. Barcelona has already accepted that any transfer costs are excluded and he will probably negotiate a contract termination with the Catalan giants. Romeu also looks at a wage reduction when he goes to Mestalla.
A third signing for Girona is also an option for the midfielder, who is highly regarded by manager Michel Sanchez. He is not a priority for sports director Quique Carcel, but if those requirements are met, a free transfer and a lower wage, he will probably have the door open in Montilivi towards the end of the transfer window.
The Blaugrana have many midfield options for next season, with Frenkie de Jong Fit and Fireing, and Marc Bernal also comes back from an injury. Marc Casado, Bernal, De Jong and possibly even Gavi would all compete for the same minutes as Romeu, hence his exit.
