Lauren Murphy makes her last walk to the Octagon this Saturday in UFC Nashville.

UFC Nashville has an intriguing heavyweight headliner between Derrick Lewis and the highest hunter of the promotion, Tallison Teixeira. The map has several big names and important fights in their respective departments.

Various top names have announced their pension from MMA this year, including Anthony Smith, who ran away in UFC Kansas City. Another name is added to that list on the Lewis vs. Teixeira Undercard.

Lauren Murphy would become the latest UFC veterinarian to assess MMA

TSN reporter Aaron Brandsteter reports that UFC Vliegweig Lauren Murphy will take its last walk to the Octagon in UFC Nashville, while she told rut in a recent interview. Murphy has retired in recent years, but will make her last appearance against Eduarda Moura in a flying weight matchup.

Although Murphy's pension fight is not surprising, it is what her planned next steps that MMA fans should excite, amid recent calls for assessing reforms.

Murphy told Brutsteter that she has completed and courses and is planning to assess fights in the state of Texas after her fighting career has been closed. While her MMA career is coming to an end, Murphy is also still planning to participate in Gripping Events, because various UFC retirees have chosen to do after hanging the gloves.

Murphy becomes the latest UFC veteran to make the switch to judge after hanging the gloves. Chris Leben, an MMA pioneer and the Ultimate Fighter Season 1 -Aluin, has served as a judge at various UFC events in recent years.

Murphy will close her MMA career on a positive note this weekend. She has not fought anymore since a unanimous decision loss for the former UFC strom weight champion Jessica Andrade on UFC 283.

In the meantime, another decorated veteran will choose not to step into Murphy's footsteps at UFC Nashville. Former UFC title -seconder Stephen Thompson, 42, says that he is planning to fight far beyond his current UFC contract, despite a recent losing skid.

Thompson will be confronted with a steep test against Gabriel Bonfim in UFC Nashville this Saturday. He has lost four of his last five fights, including a recent knockout loss for Joaquin Buckley on UFC 307.

Thompson will try to win his first victory since he defeated Kevin Holland at UFC Orlando in 2022.
