Liverpool will have a “big summer”, says Virgil van Dijk, who is convinced that the club will make the right calls.
The Reds count to the Premier League title and need a maximum of six points to reach the line after Sunday's victory over West Ham.
Van Dijk scored the winner against the Hammers and is reportedly close to signing a new deal at Anfield, with his current contract expiring at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old, who has scored more Premier League goals since his debut in the competition in September 2015 than any other center-back, will join Mohamed Salah with staying, although Trent Alexander-Arnold seems intended for full-back to leave for a free transfer.
There is also uncertainty about the future of Darwin Nunez, who has not found any consistency since his large money switch from Benfica in 2022, while Andrew Robertson has experienced a difficult form and the team of Arne Slot might be busy in the transfer market.
“Whatever happens in terms of players who go out, players who come in, I think it should be a big summer,” said Van Dijk, as quoted by ESPN.
“I think they are planning to make it a big summer, so we all have to trust the board, as a fan of Liverpool, to do the right work.”

Van Dijk, however, is convinced that Liverpool will still be a challenge on several fronts subsequent term.
“I think Liverpool should be able to challenge titles in the coming years,” he said.
When he was asked about his future, Van Dijk replied: “Let's see how this week is going.
“I first think that all the focus should go to the Hillsborough jubilee. I have already mentioned it in interviews, I think that is the most important thing and then we will see.
“The focus will still be on Leicester [who Liverpool are playing next week]But maybe there is something new. Don't know. I know, but I don't know.
“For many reasons I came to the club in 2017. Being successful with Liverpool; the culture of the club, everything that embodies Liverpool is that only part of me is.
“That is why I am always proud when I wear that shirt, go outside and try to be the best version of myself in terms of the football player I am. We are two wins, six points away from glory.
“I know what it means for the club and I know what it will bring us when it happens. Not most players, so if it happens, it will be nice, but we still have a job to do.”
