Victor Osimhen is the subject of great interest of Manchester United, Galatasaray and Al-Hilal, where the striker now chooses to beat a switch to one of those three clubs
Victor Osimhen has rejected a move to Al-Hilal in a potential boost to the hope of Manchester United to sign the striker. Osimhen spent the season on loan in Galatasaray and shot them to the Turkish Super Lig and Turkish Cup Double.
He also played for Napoli earlier when they won the Serie A title in 2023. But his career in Naples is over, with the Italian side that he wants to sell this summer while entering the last year of his contract.
Gala wants to bring him back to Istanbul permanently. But they were faced with a serious challenge from Hilal, who have cash to spend cash after missing the Saudi Pro League title this season.
Hilal has just appointed Simeone Inzaghi as their new manager, Fresh from Leading Inter Milan to their second Champions League final in three years. They are able to call on a greater purchasing power than their Turkish rivals.
But United also makes a step for the 26-year-old while they continue to rebuild Ruben Amorim's team. And in a huge boost for their hope, it seems that the movement of Hilal for the Nigerian international is dead in the water.
Hilal had made an £ 59 million offer with Napoli for Osimhen and waited for the Italian club to respond. They were also willing to hand over the striker a bumpers salary of £ 21 million a year plus bonuses.
But Osimhen has now rejected that and Hilal's dreams to bring the rush to the middle. Galatasaray has now moved to the pole position and tries to close a deal.
They have offered Osimhen a salary of £ 17.7 million a year and race to put him on paper. Gala -Baas Okan Buruk has admitted that he is expected to count on Osimhen in his team next season.
Buruk recently said: “Osimhen is important … he is positive and loves this place. He said to no one after the last game. If he had the intention to leave, his behavior would have been different. I see him as 51 percent.”
Osimhen himself was on the end of the season that he had made a decision about his future. But the striker refused to give a definitive answer when he looked to help Gala complete the title.
“Rumor is about me in connection with the Premier League. Of course, if you are one of the most popular strikers in the world, you expect things like this, it is one of the greatest and best competitions in the world,” he said.
“For me I am at Napoli, I have signed a new contract and enjoying my time there with the team, at the end of the season I have already decided, I already know what I want to do in my career.
“Since I started, I am the one who made my own decisions about everything and it works well for me. I already know the next step I want to take, so for now I want to make the season strong.”
