The future of sporty Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres is one of the greatest stories of the summer transfer window, with Manchester United under the clubs that are linked to signing him
The seven clubs that Viktor Gyokeres would be open for participation- and Manchester United is not on his list. It is said that United focuses on a new striker in the summer transfer window and the connections of Ruben Amorim with Gyokeres, 26, have led to speculation that he is their top objective.
Amorim brought the Swedish striker to Sporting Lisbon for only € 20 million (£ 16.7 million) in 2023 and he started scoring 66 goals in 68 games before the Portuguese boss moved to United. Gyokees has continued its good shape since the departure of Amorim and has become one of the most much -needed strikers in Europe.
United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been associated with signing him next to Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. But now the preference of the former Coventry City star has emerged.
Portuguese outlet a bola claims that a move to United of Chelsea is not in mind. Instead, the 26-year-old would be open to member of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG or Bayern Munich.
Gyokeres is currently a contraction with Sporting until 2028. The Portuguese Giants resisted last summer, with his release clause at € 100 million (£ 84 million).
Sporty President Frederico Varandas admitted in November that they would be powerless to prevent Gyokeres from leaving as a top club that has activated the clause. “I can't promise anything,” said Varandas. “If a club arrives and the release clause pays, if he wants to go, he will go.”
As far as the man himself is concerned, Gyokeres refused to exclude a summer output while speaking in December. “We will see,” De Sweden International told Marca.
“There are many rumors to circulate, but we are in the middle of the season and there are many months left. We will see when the time comes what will happen.”

Gyokees was then asked where he will see himself playing in four years. “Playing for one of the best teams in Europe,” he replied. “That's the goal.”
