Viktor Gyokeres has handed over a blunt message to Manchester United – I am ready. The £ 63.7 million striker, who has rejected a move to Old Trafford in favor of Arsenal, has told his export boss Ruben Amorim and United exactly what to expect on day one of the new Premier League season.
Fresh from a solo training regime awaiting his long transfersaga to end, Gyokeres has now joined his new Gunners teammates in Hong Kong and he insists that he is shooting all the cylinders.
Asked if he will be fit to prevent United on August 17, he nodded, smiled and said, “Yes.” Arsenal -Baas Mikel Arteta is ready to unleash his selection frame, signing the summer of Thursday, friendly to Spurs in Hong Kong.
“He was only trained today (Wednesday), very little yesterday (Tuesday),” said Arteta. “We will judge tonight (Wednesday evening). If the medical team is happy, there is a chance that it will offer.”
Asked why he chose Arsenal above United and other lovers, Gyokeres was crystal clear: “Of course there were other clubs, but this was not a difficult choice. I chose Arsenal.”

Club captain Martin Odegaard is already enthusiastic about what he has seen. He said: “I think you have all seen what he has done so far in his career. Especially the last season at Sporting, the figures speak for themselves.
“He is a very complete player. He is also physical, strong, fast, good finisher and intelligent. You can also see the hunger, the energy he brings. He has only trained a few times, but you can already see the quality and the willingness.”
