Viktor Gyokeres insists he’s as good as Harry Kane and Erling Haaland

Viktor Gyokees is confident to conquer the Premier League when he returns to England this summer.

The sporty Lisbon striker – formerly from Brighton, Swansea and Coventry – is much connected to both Manchester United and Arsenal.

That interest comes after Gyokeres scored 97 goals in 102 games for sport.

He previously yielded 41 times in 121 performances in the EFL championship of England, although he does not yet have to play in the Premier League, even though he is in Brighton's books for four years.

Now, now 27 years old, Gyokees believes that he is ready to thrive on the main stage.

Speaking with L'Equipe this week, Gyokeres was asked where he felt that he was currently classified as the top strikers in world football.

Names like Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland were put to Gyokees, who answered: 'I am definitely one of them.

'It's hard to rank, but yes, I am now at the same table as she is. What I managed to do when sport was done, I am convinced that I can reach everywhere.

“You haven't seen the best of me yet.”

Such a confident explanation will certainly make Arsenal and United fans even more enthusiastic about the prospect of signing Gyokeres this summer.

At the moment Arsenal seems to be the most likely destination. Indeed, earlier this week it was reported that Gyokeres was ready to refuse for the training for the season with sport to insist on a switch to the Gunners.

However, Gyokees sounded calm when he told L'Equipe: 'The future? That is football, you never know.

'I don't think about that [leaving]We will see what happens. If something is meant to happen, it will do that.

“The most important thing for me is to play for a club that really wants me.”

Kane and Haaland are two of the most productive fronts in the Premier League history.

England Captain Kane, now from Bayern Munich in Germany, is in second place on the all time list of Premier League scorers who have scored 213 times on Tottenham.

Kane reached the 30 goal twice in a season in 2017-18 and then again in the 2022-23 campaign.

He and Haaland belong to only 10 players who have ever scored 30 or more goals in a single Premier League season.

In the meantime, Haaland has the record for most Premier League goals in one campaign, after he reached 36 during his first season with Manchester City in 2022-23.
