Arsenal has confirmed the transfer of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP and the Sweden International cannot wait to work under Mikel Arteta in the Premier League
Viktor Gyokers just felt that Arsenal was the right club for him to take the next step in his career and enjoy the prospect of giving supporters something to cheer this season. The striker completed a transfer of £ 63.7 million and has committed itself to a long -term deal at the Emirates after his move from Sporting CP.
Gyokeres, 27, was one of the most discussed players of the summer that was linked to a series of clubs. But a transfer was far from easy when he fell out with Portuguese champions who thought about the fee for which he can leave.
Arsenal eventually came to an agreement for his signature and ended their search for a goal scorer who chose to move to Gyokeres about RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko. And it seems that Gyokees did not need much convincingly to give his signature to the Gunners.
The Sweden International, who took 54 goals last season, spoke effectively about why he joined North London and the reasons of the impact of Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta after the power of the club and their style and the history and fan base of Arsenal.
“I just felt it was the right club for me,” he said after signing. “What I heard from Mikel and Andrea when I spoke with them, and exactly what I have seen in recent years, how they play football. When I played against Arsenal last season, I could really feel that it was a very strong team and very difficult to play against.
“That made me choose Arsenal, and of course all the history that the club has and the huge fan base. It was great to see all the support they have already given me before I even got. That is what it's all about. It will be very nice to see them in the stadiums.”
It is not surprising that the Spirit of Arsenal's New No.14 is already finding the back of the net. After struggling in his previous spell in the Premier League with Brighton, Gyokees wants to straighten things out.
“I always want to score,” he said. “To be part of this club and to score in this kit and with this badge for all supporters, I can't wait. It will be a great feeling.
'I started here [in England]It feels a long time ago. I think I've improved a lot since then. Now I really want to prove myself and perform together with the team.
“It is a great honor to play for your country, and then to score goals for them is great. When I played at Sporting, I scored a few goals in the Champions League, so I feel that I can also be at that level. Now I come here to a club at the level of Arsenal, I think it will be even better in this team.”
