Arsenal is waiting patiently to close their long-awaited deal to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, but the Portuguese club takes steps to replace the Sweden star
Sporting Lisbon has submitted a bid worth around £ 20 million for Almeria Striker Luis Javier Suarez while they try to replace Viktor Gyokeres quickly, who is approaching a move to Arsenal.
Sporting has been in negotiations for weeks with the Gunners about Gyokees and insist on the highest possible compensation for a player who scored 54 goals in 52 games last season.
They were finally agreed on a fee that could rise to around £ 63.8 million with add-ons, although Arsenal is still trying to stamp the structure of those bonuses in the deal.
It is thought that a conclusion of long conversations is “imminent”, according to athletics, with an official announcement about the deal that will be expected soon.
Sporting has wasted little time trying to get a replacement for the Sweden International while they are in line Suarez, which yielded 31 times last season for Almeria in the Spanish Segunda division.
During his career, the Colombian was something of a travel man who previously played for Watford, Granada and Marseille.
According to the Portuguese Outlet record, Sporting has made a bid of around £ 15.6 million for Suarez, with £ 4.3 million in add-ons knowing that their star stitch will soon be on their way.
It says that Suarez has already said “yes” to the replacement of Gyokees and hopes that the two clubs will soon be able to conclude an agreement – although he has now traveled with the club for their pre -season camp in Marbella.
Gyokeres is expected to close his move to Arsenal, regardless of the Sporting for Suarez deal, because Gunners -Baas Mikel Arteta secures the signature of a striker of the highest level that he hopes to dismiss them to the Premier League title.
