Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly prepared to give up a significant part of his future salary to force a move to Arsenal this summer.
Mail Sport reported this weekend how the Gunners finally approaches the Swedish striker in a deal with a value of a maximum of £ 70 million after a long -term chase.
Further conversations took place on Sunday evening about the structure of feasible bonus payments on the reimbursement, whereby the 27-year-old had already agreed on a five-year contract.
Gyokeres, who has been adamant for the entire summer that he only wants to become a member of Arsenal, came back in the focus after RB Leipzig did not succeed in admitting enough in their appreciation of Benjamin Sesko.
Reports have claimed that Gyokeres will refuse to return for training for the season as part of his attempts to force a move and Portuguese exhaust record says that the sportswoman is now happy to continue.
The outlet suggested that the 27-year-old expressed his happiness to refrain from € 2 million (£ 1.73 million) of his proposed five-year arsenal contract, so that the money could be used to increase the bid of Gunners for his services.
Gyokeres would have been the driving force behind this movement and his determination to play in the Emirates next season.
As a result, the report claims that the last offer of Arsenal has arrived at an initial € 65 million (£ 56.2 million) with a further € 15 million (13m) in add-ons.
In the meantime, the Gunners have been locked up for a few months in negotiations with Sporting about Gyokeres and the situation is finally approaching a conclusion.
Man United head coach Ruben Amorim had demanded Gyokees this summer, but he was informed last month that his target only wanted to become a member of Arsenal.
The development comes shortly before Arteta's side, who have already added Kepa and Martin Zubimendi this summer, return for training for the season.
As reported by Mail Sport, Arteta would have liked to sign a new striker before his team extends to Singapore on July 19 to start their tour through Asia.
An irritated gyokeres had previously accused the sports to row back on an agreement to let him leave for £ 60 million, to which club president Frederico Varandas said he had not received any offers and promised that he would not collapse for 'blackmail and insults'.
The attacker scored an incredible 97 goals in 102 games in the past two seasons in Portugal and is under contract until 2028. He pushed back earlier this summer on lucrative approaches to Saudi Pro League sides al-Hilal and Al-Qadsiah.
Gyokees was also on the Juventus radar, but the Serie A Giants also missed.
Initially, RB Leipzig's Sesko seemed to be the primary target of Arsenal at no. 9, but the attention has been shifted to Gyokeres. Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa was also considered.
Gyokees moved to England in 2017-18 when he came to Brighton, but he only made eight performances for the club and scored one goal.
He spent Leen Proverbs in St Pauli and Swansea before switching to Coventry, initially on a loan agreement, where he scored 43 goals for two and a half seasons.
That form earned him a move of € 24 million (£ 20.7 million) and after two excellent years in Portugal, Gyokeres is now ready to return to the UK for the next chapter of his career.
