Vinicius excited to work with Alonso at Real Madrid

Vinicius Junior is looking forward to “winning many things” under Xabi Alonso in Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti left Madrid to take a role in the leadership of Brazil at the end of the LaLala season and finished a four-year-old second spell in the Spanish capital.

Ancelotti leaves as the most successful coach of Los Blancos in terms of won trophies.

Alonso was brought in as his replacement prior to the club World Cup after his successful two-year-old Stint in Bayer Leverkusen, where he led them to the Bundesliga title and the success of DFB-Pokal during an unbeaten domestic campaign in 2023-24.

In the meantime, Vinicius is still still in conversation about a new contract, where Madrid wants to conclude his future.

He was the second highest scorer behind Kylian Mbappe in the past term, with 11 goals in Laliga, while his eight assists were a joint team (level with Jude Bellingham). Only Luka Modric (66) created more opportunities than the Brazilian (59).

Vinicius is pleased to work with Alonso and focuses on success under the new head coach.

“I had spoken with the coach before,” Vinicius told Real Madrid TV.

“I am very happy and I have to keep working to win many things with him. We train very hard.”

Madrid has already made three signing sessions this transfer window, which strengthens their team while they want to improve in a season in which they won none of the domestic trophies that won offered.

Premier League duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen completed their transfers on time to play in the Club World Cup, while the Argentinian younger Franco Mastantuono will join the Leaga-Outfit on August 14, when he turns 18.

Vinicius has only recently linked Madrid after playing Brazil during the international break, but he is positive that his new teammates can have an impact.

“I spoke very little with them, but I am happy that they have arrived to add points and that it is a good time here,” Vinicius added.
