Vinicius Jr forced down tunnel by team-mate Rudiger in angry scenes after being sent off for pushing keeper in head

VINICIUS JUNIOR had to be forced into the tunnel by Antonio Rudiger after being sent off in angry scenes.

The 24-year-old Real Madrid striker lost his head during the LaLiga match against Valencia tonight.

In an action-packed match, Vinicius' anger boiled over with just over ten minutes to go as Real trailed 1-0.

Valencia's goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski clearly said something to excite Vinicius.

And the Brazilian responded by getting up from the lawn and pushing Dimitrievski in the head.

The Valencia stopper fell to the ground and the referee took his time before waving the red card.

And that provoked another angry response from Vinicius, as he appeared ready to approach the official, gesticulating angrily.

However, he was stopped by teammate Rudiger who latched onto the Ballon d'Or runner-up and guided him through the tunnel to prevent him from causing any more trouble.

That caused a wave of reactions from fans on social media.

One said: “This is why Vinicius will never win a Ballon d'Or.”

Another wrote: “If it wasn't for Rudiger, Vinicius would have punched the referee. He behaves like this every match. People need to wake up, this man is not a saint.”

A third added: “A LaLiga referee has finally stood up to Vinicius Jr.'s disgusting and unprofessional actions and sent him off.”

And an end user replied: “Vinicius was dragged off the pitch, preventing him from knocking the referee to the ground.”

The red card was just part of the drama at the Mestalla in Carlos Corberan's first match in charge of Valencia.

The former West Brom boss saw his new side take the lead after 27 minutes.

After the break, Kylian Mbappe had his equalizer disallowed by VAR, while Jude Bellingham hit the post with a penalty.

However, the Englishman made up for it.

He beat Luka Modric to score an equalizer in the 85th minute and then took advantage of a defensive error to score a dramatic stoppage-time winner to send Real top of the LaLiga.
