Vinicius Junior insists that he wants to sign a new contract with Real Madrid.
The Brazilian has only had two years about his current deal in the Bernabeu. That situation has become a target for clubs in the Saudi Pro League, of whom a Madrid offered £ 200 million for the 24-year-old.
That would make him the most expensive player in the history of the game. But he remains an important man for Carlo Ancelotti, who has seen his side stutter in the La Liga title race prior to this week's Champions League last 16 first leg collision against Atletico Madrid.
Vinicius has made it clear to Madrid's derby that he intends to stay in the Spanish capital. The Brazilian insisted that he 'lived the dream' and admitted that he will remain calm about his negotiations about a new deal.
“I am very calm because my contract lasts until 2027 and I hope to extend my contract as soon as possible because I am happy here,” he said. “I live the dream of playing with the best players in the world, the best coach, the best president, the best fans.
'Everyone loves me so much here. I couldn't be in a better place. My child dream was to make it here. Now I have succeeded in coming here, I write my story.
“I have won, but I can still win a lot more and get the history of the club. That is very complicated because many good players have been here, legends, and I want to be just like they are.
“I still experience incredible things with this shirt, fill my dreams and I hope we can continue like this, we have started playing better since we have played against City. We have to play a great game for our fans”
Vinicius scored in the Champions League final last season and wants to win the trophy again this season. First, Los Blancos has to pass Atletico, with Vinicius who plays a key role.
“It will be a great match, a derby is what we like. We are always looking forward to these competitions and it will be my first time in the Champions League against Atlético … It will be a great celebration for our fans,” he added.
“At the moment I am at my best. I have had injuries. With so many games you cannot be 100% in all. Play 80 games that you cannot always be at your best. You are not always in top form or physically fit. Many players play with discomfort.
“I think my season is going well. It is normal for people to demand more of me and want more from me. But now the decisive moment of the season has arrived and in Madrid we play better on this point in the season.”
