Vini Jr 'very happy' to win another prize
His decisive goals and assists in major finals such as the Champions League and Intercontinental Cup were highlighted as key factors.
Vinicius, now a three-time winner of the EFE Trophy, expressed his gratitude, saying: “I am very happy to win this award again. It reflects the season I've had, but I want to thank my teammates because without them none of this would be possible.
“They can take on the toughest challenges, and I hope this is not the last accolade. I strive for more awards like this. We ended the year on a positive note and are entering the new year with great enthusiasm, ready to give the best of ourselves.”
Oliver congratulated Vinicius on his exceptional season, which has earned him several accolades, including FIFA's The Best award. He commented: 'Vinicius, like Roberto Carlos, who is here at your side, your individual and team performances have already cemented your place among the greats of the club's history. The EFE Prize has a rich legacy and you are now the seventh Brazilian to receive it. For your achievements, talent and determination on the field, you fully deserve this honor.”
After the ceremony in Valdebebas, Vinicius joined his teammates for training at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium, which opened its doors to the public. More than 5,000 fans were present to see Carlo Ancelotti's side in action and took advantage of the festive Christmas holidays.
Other Brazilian legends to have received the EFE Trophy for Best Ibero-American Player include Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Romário, Ronaldo Nazário, Roberto Carlos and Casemiro.
