With Kylian Mbappé joining Real Madrid last summer, there have been some concerns about a possible clash with other 'big egos' in the dressing room, and especially with Vinicius Junior, who is his 'rival' for the left wing position. However, the couple has shown that they are very close.
During an impromptu interview as part of Real Madrid's open training (via Marca), the pair spoke highly of each other. First of all, Mbappé emphasized Vinicius' modest attitude.
“What I admire most about Vini? His humility, without a doubt. Everyone knows the player and sees his quality every three days. This year he has won many collective titles and individual awards, but I emphasize his humility. He is always good with the people in the locker room and I really like that.
“We can score many more goals and we will do so. I had to adapt to a new team and in the locker room they helped me a lot. I thank them all.”
Vinicius values his teammate both on and off the pitch and expects him to continue to improve as he continues to adapt to playing for the defending La Liga and European champions.
“Kylian is a crack as a person and as a player. He is very easy to play with. He will score a lot of goals for all Real Madrid supporters. This has only just begun.”
